Thanks to a combination of creativity, insight, experience and an unwavering dedication to the Australian Hairdressing Industry, Salon Owner and L’Oréal Professionnel International Guest Artist Scott Sloan continues to raise his reputation as one of Australia’s leading hairstylists. His signature aesthetic of creative yet commercial styling, precision cutting and maximum wearability has seen him secure multiple accolades worldwide, including most recently AHFA NSW Hairdresser of the Year 2017 Finalist, and Hair Expo NSW / ACT Hairdresser if the Year 2017 Finalist.
Scott is proud to play an integral role in educating hairdressers both locally and around the globe. He has travelled as far afield as Kuala Lumpur, Vietnam and Singapore hosting week-long seminars and hair shows for audiences of over 2,000 participants. He is a regular fixture on the European education circuit, most recently jetting into Paris to fly the flag for Australian Hairdressing, shooting the new SS 2017 trend collection, print and video for L’Oréal Professionnel alongside other international colleagues.
Fashion also plays a huge role in Scott’s life, having been a regular fixture at both MBFWA and NYFW, where he has created styles for a number of brands including Veronica Beard, CZAR and Leona Edmiston. In 2015 and 2016 he was appointed Hair Director at Telstra Perth Fashion Festival, overseeing the hair at more than 20 runway shows including Bianca Spender, Dion Lee, Flannel, Romance Was Born, Zhivago and Whole 9 Yards.
On a more personal note, in 2011, Scott commenced a long-term affiliation with Starlight Children’s Foundation, creating the unique Pop-Up Salon initiative that aimed to brighten the lives of hospitalised children and their families around the country. Following the success of this partnership, Scott has now taken on the role of Australian Hairdressing Council/Starlight National Ambassador, working with the AHC to continue to educate the industry on the importance of social responsibility.
